BJ, me, Amelia and Jace headed out on a 19 hour car ride to visit family in Utah. Cardon and Brinly were already there because they flew home with my sister 2 weeks earlier to spend quality time with their cousins. We were all excited to go spend time with family and enjoy my parents cabin for a week.We drove through Wyoming which was NOT a beautiful drive! The most exciting thing we saw were the prairie dogs at the rest stop. If you look really close you might be able to spot it in the background.
We were soooo excited when we got to my parents cabin in Eden, Utah. The mountains were so beautiful and we were so excited to re-unite with Cardon and Brinly. That first weekend all but one brother of BJ's came up to stay at the cabin with their families. We went down to the lake and most of the kids jumped in and swam around. My mother and Father in law watched all of the little "who's" that were too small to swim. Here Grandma Carol is watching over MaKenna and Jace. It was so fun getting to know my nieces and nephews and watch my kids get to know their cousins.
Uncle Scott and his older kids attempted some fishing but to no avail. They had fun trying.
The water was cold but obviously not cold enough to deter the kids from jumping in. It was so nice to have this big group of people surrounding us and know that they were all family.
We lined up all the kids to get a photo opportunity but before we knew it--they were back in the water!
After playing in the lake we headed back to the cabin and had a big spaghetti dinner. There were plenty of treats to share and the kids loved getting rides on the 4 wheelers, playing Wii, and watching videos. When we finally got them settled down for the night all of the adults stayed up and watched some good ol' comedy and laughed and laughed. It was a great day shared with family--they'll never know how much BJ and I loved spending time with them!

Wow! Cardon looks so much like BJ as he gets older, don't you think? Sounds like you are having such a great summer, even in the heat and humidity. Does Kansas suit you? Do you plan on staying? When does school start back?
