Cardon's 1st Football game of the Season!

Cardon had his first football game of the season on Saturday. It was an 8am game which kills me to get up that early but then we had the rest of the day to do other things.

Cardon is #31 and he got to run the ball for the last play of the game. He was totally excited. He played both offense and defense but loved being a running back (just like his dad).

Here he is blocking.
They have cheerleaders for all the games--it makes me laugh. It's cute.

Here's BJ given Cardon some tackling instructions at the end of the game.
Jace had fun watching his big brother play (bootball) in his words. The girls spent most of the time jumping off of the bleachers and then after the game we were off to ............
The Nelson Atkins Art Museum. That's right--we're just cultured like that! Actually Cardon has been asking me to go since last year when they learned about some art that was here and the teacher told them they should go and see it in person. I kept telling him that we would go all year and into this summer and it never happened. The GUILT eventually built so great that I was forced to visit the museum. We all actually enjoyed it. BJ and I were kind of annoyed as every guard in every room watched the kids like hawks but, whatever. This guard totally freaked the kids out! Believe it or not, he isn't real. It was unbelievable. We kept daring the kids to go and stand by him but they wouldn't--so I was brave. They have a park outside full of sculptures. If you can' t guess this one--it is a "badminton birdie".It was a fun day had by all.

Very fun!! The kids look so old I hardly even know them anymore. I can't wait to see them again in November.

GREAT action shots of the football player! i'm sure bj is loving every minute of it.
Football is all fun and games until the weather turns nasty. I wish you and your family a warm, comfortable "bootball" season :)
that Jace is about the cutest little guy EVER!

So is BJ the coach? He's so cute playing and all dressed in uniform!

No, BJ isn't the coach. They have a great coach that retired 2 years ago from the Kansas City Chiefs football team. He's great! It is fun to see him in uniform. I'm sure he looks quite a bit like BJ did.
